GILI TRAWANGAN
"Gili" has a meaning island. Lombok has 3 islands nearest, they are Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air.
Gili Trawangan is the largest of three islands (Gili Islands), located on the northwest of Lombok. Trawangan is also the only island which has significant height above sea level, with a length of 3 km and 2 km wide, Trawangan population of about 800 inhabitants. Among the three islands, Trawangan has the facilities for tourists of the most diverse.
On this explore, we only had an opportunity to visited Gili Trawangan.
How to achieve this island? People usualy use motorize boat or speed boat.
The interested thing that you can find at this place, there are no motorized vehicles. Common means of transportation are bicycles (rented by local people for the tourists) and "Cidomo", simple horse-drawn carriage which are common as well in Lombok.
Popular activities conducted in Trawangan tourists are scuba diving, snorkeling (on the northeast coast), kayaking, and surfing. There are also several places where the tourists can learn to ride around the island.
