The sun was climbing up when we prepared to go. That day we would start an adventure to across Madura Island. Something that we had has been planned for a couple weeks before. Surely it’s being inspired of bridge Suramadu opening. The anxious to experience the longest bridge in Indonesia was un-hold able. We have had to go.
Then after passed through the busy traffic as along city side of Surabaya, we reached the main street toward bridge gate at ‘Kedung Cowek. The street looks like nice and clean, maybe caused of after repaired altogether with bridge construction.

Arrived at entrance gate we have to pay IDR 30.000,00 for small car category. Motorcycle IDR 3.000, - and for truck and trailer IDR 45,000.00. Then we started move quickly on the smooth new highway.
A little bit surprised when we got closely to the middle picket. All cars drive in left side regulated nicely, there was not even one car at fast line in right side, that’s not usual moreover at highway, only my car at right side.
Then, after I arrived at the middle of bridge, I just knew why all cars drive on the left side, because they would to stop at the middle of bridge to take a picture or to enjoy middle section of bridge, felt the wind blows. Ah, I had thought that the driver followed the rule to drive always at the left side. By the way, at last I tempted to follow them parked my car and took some picture, enjoyed the atmosphere of middle bridge.
This bridge has 5.4 km length, spread out above Madura strait. Starting at ‘Kenjeran in Surabaya and ended at Labang Madura. This bridge that opened by President RI, Mr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, fund spends about IDR 4.5 trillion. It’s realy giant project
